Covid sucks

The title may an understatement. How can I even begin to describe how messed up this virus really is?

This new BA.5 variant snuck past my immune system and has been knocking down people in my social circle. Even for some of those who have been previously infected, and/or vaccinated and boosted- it doesn’t prevent this variant from wreaking havoc on the hosts who encounter its wrath. I personally was turned into a couch potato and Netflix became my new best friend.

I generally am pretty healthy and even when I do fall ill it doesn’t usually last that long. Also typically I’m still able to get stuff done when sick. Not this time. Not with Covid. It has been strange the various ways this obnoxious virus has effected my body and I’m ready to be healthy again. I’m super grateful my immune system has been working overtime to overcome this sneaky little invader but the battle continues.

What is the purpose of Covid, I wonder, and why does it affect us all differently? This time, this variant, for me it started with horrible headaches and a fever. Then the fatigue set in, body aches and a horrible itchy rash appeared on my hands. My temperature returned to normal after 3 days and I was feeling better when I got slammed with head cold symptoms. I keep moving thru waves of feeling better and then feeling very strange.

I’m writing this post because maybe it will help someone else feel better when Covid strikes close to home. All my usual tricks to stay healthy didn’t work this time. The one thing I regret the most is that I stopped wearing my mask in critical places. Would it have prevented this miserable experience? Nothing is for certain but I will be playing it safer and masking up again from now on. This virus is no joke and I would do almost anything to avoid feeling this way ever again.

Stay healthy my friends.
